North Warwickshire Borough Council are hosting a consultation regarding our Animal Welfare Licensing Draft Policy.

North Warwickshire Borough Council (“the Council”) is responsible for licensing a number of activities relating to the welfare of animals under a number of different Acts of Parliament, and the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018. This legislation is aimed at protecting animals and makes it an offence for any person to possess, own or keep animals in order to carry out certain businesses, or have possession of certain animals within the district, without first being licensed by the Council.

We are consulting for resident's opinion on our Draft Policy, which you can view here.

You can also view the full guidance issued by the Government that we must adhere to when deciding who to licence by clicking here

The consultation is intended to run from Monday 3rd March 2025 until Sunday 6th April 2025.
