Report a stray dog
The council is legally obliged to deal with stray dogs under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
During office hours, stray dogs, found in North Warwickshire ONLY should be reported to our Contact Centre on 01827 715341 Mon - Fri 8.30- 5:00pm and will be collected by Birmingham Dogs Home. PLEASE NOTE – the kennels close at 4:30pm promptly, so Dogs Home cannot and will not collect a dog unless it can be transported to the kennels by that time. This may vary depending on the location of the dog in the Borough.
Out of hours service
We operate a limited out of hour service for dogs found in North Warwickshire ONLY.
Saturdays - If you find a stray in North Warwickshire you can take it to Birmingham Dogs Home, Catherine-de-Barnes Lane, Solihull, B92 0DJ - 9.00am and 4:30pm Tel 0121 643 5211 (not Christmas and New Year).
After 4:30pm on a Monday - Saturday and all day Sunday - No service available. If you can secure the dog we will make arrangements to collect and scan the dog the next working day. Let us know using the following online form

We cannot collect unsecured stray dogs. You can give details about the stray, using the above online form, that we will pass on to owners enquiring about lost dogs.

Bank Holidays
During the close down we have no dog warden service. If you have a stray dog you can take it to Birmingham Dogs Home, at the times given below, or hold onto it.
You can look for ID on a collar or tag, or take to a vet to scan for a microchip, if safe to do so.
