Austrey Neighbourhood Plan Review Regulation 16 Consultation

Austrey Neighbourhood Plan Review is now being consulted upon until 4th May 2026

The Consultation is open until 4th May 2026 and all comments should be sent to planningpolicy@northwarks.gov.uk. All comments will be made public and will be sent to the appointed Examiner

 

The Regulation 18 Consultation was open until Wednesday 21st January 2026

ISSUES AND OPTIONS CONSULTATION (REGULATION 18)

The Borough Council is consulting on a new Local Plan.  It has been shaped by the work undertaken previously in relation to the Draft Employment Plan Document considered at the recent Local Development Framework Sub-Committee on Tuesday, 1 July 2025 and the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) published in December 2024.  This Draft Issues and Options, Regulation 18 Consultation is the initial stage in the Local Plan review, seeking your views and comments on changes to the existing adopted Local Plan policies and any potential new policies or proposals. 

The NPPF requires Strategic Policies to look ahead over a minimum 15-year period from adoption, to anticipate and respond to long-term requirements and opportunities, so the Issues and Options consultation also seeks views on the appropriate timescale the new plan should cover.  It continues the theme of sustainable development and seeking the provision of the right infrastructure to address a potential range of housing figures but seeks views on alternative options and approaches to addressing the Boroughs growth needs and the ability and capacity of the Borough’s services and infrastructure to address those needs.

SA Scoping Report

A Sustainability Appraisal (SA) Scoping Report (link below) provides the context for and determine the scope of, the SA of the Local Plan Review and to set out the framework for undertaking the later stages of the SA. The purpose of the SA is to promote sustainable development by assessing the extent to which the Local Plan, when judged against reasonable alternatives, will help to achieve relevant environmental, economic, and social objectives.

Some evidence documents will not be available until later in the process of reviewing the Local Plan.  Regular updates will be given on this page.  The documents will be made available on the website as soon as possible.

Any comments made will be made publicly available and be taken into account when finalising the Local Plan.
