Volunteer Litter Picking

Litter picking

By becoming a volunteer litter picker, you can help make North Warwickshire a cleaner and more attractive place to live, work, and visit. Any time you can give to help keep your local area tidy and litter-free is hugely appreciated by the council and the community, and we want to support volunteers in any way that we can.

Each litter-picking kit holds around 20 litter-picking sticks, bag hoops, high visibility vests, gloves, hand wipes, graffiti wipes, a basic first aid kit and safety advice.  We will deliver the kit before the pick, collect it afterwards and arrange to collect all filled bags.

We have three big kit bags available for large groups and provide a smaller kit bag suitable for groups of 5 to 10 volunteers.  The kits are available throughout the year, and we advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

There are numerous health benefits to becoming a volunteer litter picker including a chance to get fresh air, walking, and improving the environment of the area you live in.

Individuals are welcome to apply for a kit(s) by contacting groundsandstreetsmaintenance@northwarks.gov.uk. Please keep us informed of any litter-picking events so that we can help to publicise these further.

Once a litter pick has taken place, you can contact North Warwickshire Borough Council to collect the waste at a suitable time and place.
