How liability for Council tax is affected
If only students or student nurses on Project 2000 occupy a property, then no Council Tax is payable. Please ask for details.
Council Tax assumes two adults live in the property. If only one adult is living at the property then a reduction of 25% is awarded.
When counting adults in the property, Student nurses not on project 2000, along with Apprentices, YTS Trainees and 18 or 19 year olds still at school are 'disregarded' when counting liable persons for Council Tax. If there are already two adults in the property (before counting the disregarded persons) than the full Council Tax is payable regardless of the status of the 3rd or 4th adult.
