Apprentice
A person employed for the purpose of learning a trade, business, profession, office employment or vocation and who is undertaking a programme of training leading to a qualification accredited by the National Council for Vocational Qualifications and employed at a salary or allowance or both (in total not more than £160 per week gross) which is substantially less than the salary they would receive if they had achieved the qualification in question.
