We have an opportunity for an experienced housing maintenance professional to work within our Response Repairs Section. You will need to be able to work as part of a team to ensure that the work tasks you undertake meet the satisfaction of our tenants.
The job holder reports to the Reactive Repairs Manager and works closely with Compliance Managers for gas and electrical works. Dealing with reported and diagnosed conditions of damp and mould is a priority focus for the team.
Maintenance Surveyors undertake a wide range of surveys in order to schedule works and provide specifications for planned jobs. The post holder must be able to investigate, diagnose and resolve technical issues and deal with enquiries from tenants. They also need to monitor and manage contractors employed to undertake the remedial work. Their workload includes managing void works and overseeing complex works delivered by the in-house team.
A minimum of an appropriate HNC or relevant technical surveying qualification or extensive trade knowledge is essential. Applicants must be able to demonstrate high levels of customer care in providing services for our tenants.
The role does include out of office hours duties as part of an agreed rota. A vehicle is provided with the post.
Appointment to this post will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed. A Basic check will be required. This will contain details of convictions and conditional cautions considered to be ‘unspent’ under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
